How Much Taxpayer Money Did the NY Times Get vs the NY Post?

Return to DOGE Details

At this time, we don’t know how many years, or decades federal agencies have been illegally dispersing hundreds of billions, perhaps trillions of U.S. taxpayer dollars to unauthorized organizations. We don’t know who authorized it. We don’t know if the intent was legitimate, or if it was just buying favors.

In this case, the first section in this article shows the money that was given to The New York Times from a wide variety of government agencies. Some were for job ads, subscriptions, legal notices, etc. One was for an auction notice for a piece of property in Colorado… why is the Department of Agriculture advertising the auctioning of a piece of property in Colorado in the NY Times?

The purpose description for several state: “Comments: It Request Status: False”. That is really strange…

Were these agencies buying influence, control on what appeared in the newspaper in an attempt to manipulate the American people? The NY Times is a pro-Democrat newspaper. Did these agencies give equal treatment to a pro-Republican newspaper? This is answered below.

If nothing else, it is abundantly clear the American people need to be asking questions and demanding answers. More than that, as the corruption is exposed, the American people need to demand justice.

The NY Times data is for the period Jan. 1, 2009 – Feb. 16, 2025 from usaspending.gov. The total NY Times received was $2,868,216.46.

U.S. Government Spending to the NY Post

The U.S. government did not advertise or make any payments to the NY Post for the time period of 01/01/2009 – 02/24/2025. The following images displays the results of a search at usaspending.gov.

The federal government agencies prefer to give their business to the news outlets that will “report” what the pro-Democrat politicians and bureaucrats tell them to report. Without objective reporting, the American people have no chance of being able to make informed decisions.
