How Much Taxpayer Money Did NewsGuard Get?

At this time, we don’t know how many years, or decades federal agencies have been illegally dispersing hundreds of billions, perhaps trillions of U.S. taxpayer dollars to unauthorized organizations. We don’t know who authorized it. We don’t know if the intent was legitimate, or if it was just buying favors.

In this case, this is money that was given to NewsGuard from the Department of Defense (DOD) via the Department of the Air Force. NewsGuard was used to oppress or silence anyone who disagreed with former President Joe Biden, former Vice President Kamala Harris and the Democrat party.

NewsGuard ranked news outlets as a warning to advertisers, educators, funders and anyone who used those news outlets. They claimed they were protecting Americans from “misinformation” and “disinformation” by ranking the “credibility and transparency” of the news outlets. Ironically, NewsGuard ranked pro-Democrat news outlets as extremely credible, while ranking pro-Conservative news outlets as not credible. As history has proven, the pro-Conservative news outlets reported the truth, while the pro-Democrat news outlets did everything possible to cover-up the corruption of the Biden administration and Democrats.

Be that as it may, why is any private company getting U.S. tax dollars? Why did the DOD feel justified in funding an organization crushing free speech, when the 1st Amendment specifically blocks the federal government from silencing free speech? Paying a private company or organization to do the dirty work the federal government is banned from doing, is still the federal government violating the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

If nothing else, it is abundantly clear the American people need to be asking questions and demanding answers. More than that, as the corruption is exposed, the American people need to demand justice.

The NewsGuard data is for the period Jan. 1, 2009 – Feb. 21, 2025 from usaspending.gov. The total NewsGuard received was $749,387.00.
